After several years of problems that have come to a head recently, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division is investigating the Seattle Police Department on allegations of a system of brutality, biased enforcement, and lack of disciplinary integrity. Chief John Diaz said he welcomes the investigation and, seemingly making light of it, compared it to getting a “free audit”. [read more..]

A 59 year old man rode the train from his home in Oregon this past week to answer a warrant in Olympia that was issued in 1974. Court officials are still shaking their heads about this old warrant and how it managed to stay under the radar for so long. [read more..]
